Social media influencers play a big role to engage consumers and communities

Nowadays, one of the most prominent marketing channels brands adopt is through hiring social media influencers, as they have relatively significant impact on attracting new consumers to purchase the endorsed products. Influencers can help drive more audience to the brand’s products or services, as a result of having effectively acquired the trust of their followers.

Social media Influencers: How to choose the right one for your business?

Usually, after a brand deals with an influencer, they will endorse and send the product over to the influencer, and the influencer’s job is to promote the product by reviewing and posting it on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook or Youtube.

So do influencers actually help brands grow?

To a certain extent, influencers can help improve the brands’ sales. However, prior to dealing with the influencer, brands have to conduct extensive research and ensure that both the brands and the influencers carry similar vision and values. By doing this, brands will be able to mitigate risks like endorsing the wrong influencer as not all influencers can be a good fit for a specific brand, regardless of the number of their followers.

There are many types of influencers and endorsing heavily depends on what the brand’s products are and the influencers’ market. Not all influencers’ market are the same, some of them have a lower to middle market while some have a middle to an upper market. Let’s say for example, “Brand A” focuses on selling food products and is considering to endorse a beauty blogger with a thousands of followers. Believe it or not, this will not provide a great impact for the brand.

WHY?

Just think of beauty bloggers’ market. Their followers are mostly interested with his/her make up looks and tutorials as he/she is specialised in that field. So when a beauty blogger is reviewing food products, his/her followers are likely to be less interested. Alternatively, let’s say “Brand A” choose to endorse food bloggers. This will definitely boost up the brand’s sales as they are specialised in reviewing food products. Most of their followers followed them because they are interested in the contents they bring to the public.

Influencer Marketing on Social Media

In conclusion, influencer marketing is helpful for start up business as it can help with increasing brand’s awareness, improving brand’s reputation, building trust with consumers and more conveniently reaching target audiences.

  1. Great post! I totally agree with the view that is important to hire an influencer who share similar vision and values as the brand, I think that helps the customers and the brand connect well. Also, not choosing the right influencer to promote the product might just have an adverse effect on the marketing project.
